Commercial Litigation Expertise.

    • Represented development enterprise against novel intellectual property claims asserted by former hotel operator represented by AM Law 20 firm and successfully reduced claims that plaintiff sought by more than 8 figures.

    • Represented lender in 20 year legal batter to enforce judgments for money lent including appeals to the Florida Supreme Court resulting in new standard for relation back principle. Kopel v. Kopel, 229 So. 3d 812, 815 (Fla. 2017).

    • Provided counsel to victims in several high level ponzi schemes where perpetrators defrauded investors of tens of millions of dollars.

    • Successfully recovered nearly $1 Million for client defrauded in sham dog food investment scheme.

    • Successfully recovered funds for client that had paid several million dollars towards the purchase of private jet aircraft following discovery that broker had surreptitiously converted the deposit money.

    • Represented prominent art dealer in multi-million dollar multi-jurisdictional dispute concerning numerous works, many valued in excess of seven figures each. The dispute included novel arguments concerning securitization of art, issues of priority, and import of choice of law provisions regarding private secured loans.

    • Successfully defended several high-profile commercial evictions in one of South Florida’s most well-known shopping centers against NY based real estate fund with more than $12B real estate portfolio.

    • Successfully defended Owner against claim of lien placed on multi-million-dollar waterfront Venetian Island home and making new case law on the subject matter.

    • Represented clients in wide variety of matters adverse to Am Law 20 and Am Law 200 firms.

    • Successfully defended against frivolous claims of defamation and tortious interference made by a third party, and successfully prosecuted counterclaim resulting in a final judgment of $10M in our favor.

    • Represented condominium association to enforce its governing documents, recover property converted by neighboring association and judicial award recognizing necessary easement for condo owners following adverse permanent obstruction by adjacent property owner.

    • Represented client in trust dispute concerning $2 Billion+ trust corpus.

    • Have recovered tens of millions of dollars on plaintiff contingency cases for clients for wide array of claims, including but not limited to breach of contract, breach of promissory note, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of duties of care and loyalty, claims under the Florida Trust Code (Chapter 736, Fla. Stats.) and medical service providers (MSPs) that are critical to Florida’s health care system in suits against insurance carriers for unpaid medical benefits owed under Florida’s No-fault insurance law (Fla. Stat. Sec. 627.736(also known as PIP), Chapter 713, Florida’s Construction Lien Law, among many other types of matters.

    • Represented owner/developer in property line and lateral support action against one of the world’s most valuable luxury goods conglomerates conglomerate and developer of half billion-dollar project.

    • Represented high profile clients including socialite, founder and chief executive of public oil and gas exploration and production company, together with related foreign trusts in multi-jurisdictional $40M litigation matter with litigation aspects in Florida state and federal court, New York federal court, and Lithuanian federal court.

    • Represented developer in partnership dispute, recognized as one of the world’s wealthiest and largest landowners, over the operational decisions, claimed breaches of fiduciary duties and disposition of adjacent development parcel which eventually sold for $125 Million, then a record on a per acre basis.

    • Represented partner in partnership dispute concerning $26 Million private jet, including protracted litigation between the partners, the secured lender, and other stakeholders in both Circuit Court and Bankruptcy and collateral proceedings which ultimately spanned more than a decade to resolve. Matter was successfully resolved in favor of client following multi-million dollar jury verdict in client’s favor and settlement with other stakeholders.

    • Represented Hollywood film mogul in connection with several real estate development projects and a multi-million-dollar construction defect case concerning $14.5 Million home on La Gorce Island.

    • Represented fashion mogul and his real estate holding company in the renovation, licensing and rebranding of its South Beach fashion hotel, which to this day, is largely recognized as one of the first of its kind in the world and one of the most popular fashion hotels.

    • Represented fashion mogul in headline commercial litigation matter against former executive’s conversion of corporate assets.

    • Represented glass window/panel manufacturer in legal dispute concerning supplier contracts against New York’s largest real estate developer. Also represented client in local litigation and pre-suit dispute resolution matters.

    • Successfully defeated $15 Million class action suit brought against community association and private homeowners in South Florida’s wealthiest zip code.

    • Successfully defended very high-profile Hollywood producer against claims by former counsel exceeding more than $1 Million and soliciting final summary judgment fully vindicating client.

    • Represented internationally recognized Italian industrialists with regards to US real property holdings valued at more than $30M and several breach of contract actions.

    • Successfully prosecuted and defended commercial and residential foreclosures for properties worth well in excess of $50 Million at the time.

    • Have litigated claims on behalf of owners against condominium and homeowner associations as well as represented associations with regards to routine administration, governance, and defense of litigation and arbitration claims.
